Asbestos-Free Certificate
Sepiolite, being formed as a result of various tectonic movements in different geographical regions, has unique types of sepiolite in each region. Additionally, due to its fibrous structure and presence of different structures within it, it is an important aspect that requires investigation of its toxicity. Indeed, it is known that there are hydrothermal-origin sepiolite types that raise concerns due to containing asbestos and therefore do not meet the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO). In this perspective, in order to reveal all the characteristics of the sepiolite extracted from our mines, we have conducted physical, chemical, mineralogical, physicochemical, and textural analyses, as well as asbestos analysis. As a result, our sepiolite has been certified with the “Asbestos-Free” document, confirming that it does not contain asbestos.
